All-Over Printing

All Over Printing seem to be everywhere in the stores nowadays. Some brands like Affliction, Ed Hardy and Christian Audigier are known for this look. These seam-to-seam prints are done a few different ways. Some designers have the fabric printed first and then cut and sewn into the finished garments. This method is expensive and requires high minimum orders.

All-over prints can also be accomplished using a "belt-printer" which is basically a large conveyor belt with printheads mounted along its length. We choose to do it with a similar method, but instead use oversized pallets on a carousel press to achieve the same effect.

All over prints are stunning and give designers the means to cover the entire garment but minimums, setup and print charges generally run higher than typical screen printing.

ORDER INFO

Minimum order: Our minimum order is 144 pieces with volume discounts occurring at 300, 600 and 1000 pieces. Minimums are subject to change based on our current volume.

Garment Selection: We offer all over printing on t-shirts, but do not print on fleece, sports shirts or pants.

Typical turnaround time: Turnaround time is anywhere from 3-6 weeks dependent on the time of year and our production schedule. Turnaround time begins when final art is received and final mock ups are approved. Turnaround time on orders over 1000 pieces are by estimate only.

Maximum print size: We can print all-over the garment up to a 2XL, although there are small areas on a 2XL right at the tip of the sleeves that will not print (approx 1 by 3 inch triangle), we can print all over on any sizes smaller including womens designs. The unprinted small triangle area on a 2XL is generally not noticed.

Registration/Printing Info: If more than a one color design is needed, then you should have a design with loose registration. These garments have to be hit with a shot of waterbased adhesive on the inside of the shirt so that the shirt does not shift around too much during printing. Butt registration of artwork is not guaranteed. All-over artwork typically works best when it is smaller line art of repeating patterns. Large areas of solid color may have an ink deposit or build up on them over a run if that part of of the design falls on a seam.

All over prints are not perfect, you will see some areas that don’t print perfectly due to folds in the shirt. There will be some inconsistencies where the print goes over seams, collars etc. If you look at most prints in mid tier department stores you will see a good sampling of what to expect. If you are expecting Affliction style quality be prepared to have a larger percentage of rejects and you might also consider printing the shirts as a blank before the side seams have been sewn.

We offer up to 3 colors on all over prints and we reserve the right to not print a design if we don’t think it will print well. We reserve the right to determine how a design will print best though, and will make recommendations based on our experience in doing this work.

All-over printing is done with waterbase inks only.

We do not offer foil with all-over prints.
