There are two options for relabel. We can screen print your label inside the shirt or insert your woven tag into or on top of the collar seam. We will only relabel garments that we print.

Minimum order for opening the seam: 144 pieces for Sun Apparel, American Apparel and Gildan. We can relabel other brands but there are generally higher minimums.

Minimum order for tear away tags or cut away tags: 36 pieces, screen printed labels only.

Typical turnaround time: May add to our typical turnaround time.

Maximum print sizes (width x height):

Inside neck tag print: 3.5" x 2.5"
Larger inside prints: We can go up to our maximum print size on the inside of the garment but an additional fee for turning the garment inside out will apply.

Setup Fees:

Screen setup: $25 (we can fit 6 size tags on a single screen)
Ink change: $15 (if you are changing the ink color then there will be an ink change charged for every size. For example, if you are printing 5 different sizes and two colors per size, then there will be 5 ink changes).
Pantone color match: $15

Tag removal prices:

Tear-away tags: Free
Cut out the tag: 25 cents each
Open seam, remove the tag and sew back up: This can run from 50 cents to $1.50 each depending on garment brand, collar construction and quantity.
Open seam, remove the tag, insert tag that you supply and re-stitch seam: This can run from 50 cents to $2 each depending on garment brand, collar construction, number of tags and quantity.

Limitations:

We currently only do single-color tag prints.
Be aware that tag prints on very thin fabric may be slightly visible on the outside of the garment.
Some garments (particularly boy-beaters and infant garments) have a lock-stitched seam on the collar. We cannot rip this seam without compromising the integrity of the garment.
The fabric on the inside of most fleece is unsuitable for printing so we do not offer relabel on fleece. Continental hoodies are an exception as they have a panel on the inside neck that we can print on.

About custom relabel

Custom relabel is a great way to brand your product and give it a professional, retail friendly look. We can remove the existing manufacturer's tag in a few different ways:

Cut out the tag: We cut the tag with scissors as close to the seam as we can get without damaging the garment. There may be some residual tag fibers showing under the collar tape. This is the least expensive option.
Open seam, remove the tag and re-stitch: We have the manufacturer open up the collar seam, remove the existing tag, insert a tear-away tag (so that we know what size the garment is when we get it) and then re-stitch the collar with an appropriate thread color.
Open seam, remove the tag, insert tag that you supply and re-stitch: We have the manufacturer open up the collar seam, remove the existing tag, insert one or more tags that you provide and then re-stitch the collar with an appropriate thread color. If you do not have sizes and care info on your tag, we can have the manufacturer insert one of their stock labels with the necessary info.

Getting your tags: We do not supply woven or printed tags. The best place we have found to order these from is NWtag. Their turnaround time generally runs 2 weeks. Our relabel turnaround time does not begin until we have the tags in hand. Please consider that your tag needs to be sewn into a garment so you should leave adequate (3/8") sewing space at the top of the tag.

If you do not want a woven or printed tag in your shirt, or want to avoid the trouble of ordering them, then we recommend getting screen printed tags on the inside of the garment instead.

Tear away tags: A few companies are starting to produce some of their styles with tags that can be torn out easily. These are ideal because they are free to remove. Earth Positive and Royal Apparel offer most of their styles with tear-away tags.

Continental: These people are brilliant! They make all of their garments with a small size tag in the collar dyed the same color as the garment. The manufacturer tag is inside the garment on the lower side seam. With these all you have to do is print your logo inside the collar with no tag removal fees.
